Two Bricks began as a printed newsletter, compiled by friends in Oxford to share citizen journalism from across liberation movements. The aim: to cover global systems of oppression and the movements resisting them; to unravel the threads holding together structures of power and domination, including occupation, militarisation, incarceration and imperialism.
Finding a complementary space online, Two Bricks continues to gather new writing and research from across liberation movements. It is a space to share reflections on connected struggles; the experiences of those involved within them (in whatever capacity); explorations in material literacy; critiques of settler-colonial and racial capitalism; citizen journalism and underground research into militarism and extractivism; poetry and prose; fiction and non-fiction; letters and notes sent to and from prisons; and more.
It is a space where resistance is built beyond borders and enclosures. It is a space of collaboration, unfettered by the obstacles we are otherwise forced to navigate. It is a space where form is stripped away and from which new connections can arise.
We are open to submissions, and encourage you to take a look at our editorial guidelines. Our aim is to build a home where the reflections of activists and actionists, prisoners and politicians, families and friends, academics and independent researchers, diarists and citizen journalists can co-exist together in universal exchange.
